High Bridge Glens

High Bridge Glens Park in Cuyahoga Falls is the redevelopment of a  park originally located on this site in 1822. The site became blocked off by factories in the 1920's, so the goal of this project was to clean up the brown field site, and once again create public access to the river. The replaced Prospect Avenue bridge serves as a scenic overlook for the Cuyahoga River as well as a utility access for Route 8. In addition, a boardwalk was built overhanging the gorge, re-creating the ladders that once allowed public access to the river's edge. The park also includes a pavilion for public events, an Ohio Historical Marker and a unique replicated historic gateway and lighting.
