High Bridge Glens

High Bridge Glens Park in Cuyahoga falls is the redevelopment of a  park originally located on this site in 1822. The site became blocked off by factories in the 1920's, so the goal of this project was to clean up a brown field site, and once again create public access to the river. The replaced Prospect Avenue bridge serves as a scenic overlook for the Cuyahoga River as well as a utility access for Route 8. In addition, a boardwalk was built overhanging the gorge, re-creating the ladders that once allowed public access to the river's edge. The park also includes a pavilion for public events, an Ohio Historical Marker and a unique replicated historic gateway.
