Preston's H.O.P.E.
Preston’s H.O.P.E is a fully accessible inter-generational park, per the American Disabilities Act of 1990. The 1½-acre park is located on the property of the Mandell Jewish Community Center of Cleveland, providing easy access from surrounding communities. It provides a unique recreational environment where families of children with all types of disabilities can play together and participate equally with their able-bodied peers. Specific components of Preston’s H.O.P.E. include a village with 2-story make-believe playhouses connected by a double wide raised walkway, a pre-school and school age play area, an amphitheater, a sand and water play area, a game pavilion and other play components, as well as restroom facilities. With an overall budget of approximately $2,000,000, The Preston Fund secured funding through private funds and donations and was completed in 2006.
