Heather Hill YMCA
This 55,000 s.f. facility occupies a corner of the Heather Hill campus in Munson Township. It is part of the overall Master Plan to provide recreational opportunities for the residents of the campus. The site features and landscape were designed to comply with the US Green Building Council’s national Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system. Native or adaptive-native species make up eighty percent of the plants used. In addition, larger plant sizes were specified to produce a mature landscape. A large wetland and retention pond was designed to manage the storm water for the site. Wetland plantings were planted along the edge of the basin to filter the water before it joins major drainage courses off-site.
