Aspen Lakes Apartments
The design objective for this 26-acre, 204-unit apartment site by Gross Builders was to turn an unattractive existing dry detention basin into a focal point water feature and central open space. The site’s topography allowed the layout of the buildings to focus on the pond and woods while preserving over 40% open space. In addition, there were wetlands and a stream system through the site, which were to be preserved through careful placement of the buildings. A trail system will allow residents to access the pond, picnic area and future off-site parks.
