Regina Health Center Therapeutic Garden
This therapeutic garden is located in Richfield, Ohio. The client requested us to design an outdoor space that provides areas for both active and passive activities, while promoting emotional and physical well-being for the elderly residents. The garden has a concrete path which loops back to the beginning, connecting all activities including sitting areas, a patio area for umbrella tables, raised timber planters, and a bird feeding station. The center of the loop is a mounded area with a dry-laid stone retaining wall to provide wheelchair access to a raised flowerbed. One side of the garden is a large perennial bed with a paver path winding through it. The focal point of the garden is a trellis structure, which provides shade and a gathering area.
